Boat Review: Tiara Sovran 4000 with IPS - 2006

Owner's Review of a brand new model from Tiara complete with the Volvo IPS drives.

"Very Responsive. Handles 3-4' swell and chop as if it didn't exist.  Also handles much larger chop - I've bashed through 6-8' leaving the inlet - much better than I can!"

Tiara's Sovran 4000 is an awesome sweet running boat that is helping to put Volvo IPS system on the map.  Here is a review from one of the early adopters.

Boat Review: Four Winns Marquis 180 - 1980

Built like a Mack Truck and handles like a dream. At 50 mph she will turn on a dime.

Boat Review: Carolina Skiff J-16 - 15` 9" - 2003

Skiff type boat modified into a small waters, bass boat with the addition of a front deck, foot controlled electric motor, seats, depth finder, etc. Handles as well as could be expected for a 16', tiller control outboard. Responds well to the helm. With a flat bow, it does ride rough in anything more than a chop. It is not a "big water" boat, but it was never designed to be.

Boat Review: Custom Coastal Motor Cruiser - 48` 6"-1995

Boat Review: Carver 360 Mariner - 2004

A lot of boat for a smaller price.

Carver's 360 Mariner is poised to become an all-time favorite thanks to its contemporary styling and distinctive single level floor plan. For entertaining, the cabin includes a generous, full beam salon and available sleeping accommodations for five.

As an added convenience, the luxurious head compartment includes a spacious walk-in shower.

Boat Review: Seafox Center Console 21`

I was looking for a 21' CC fishing boat and was stuck in the $35-$45,000 area and to be honest, for a short season in New England that's too much money. For $25,000, I got boat, motor and trailer and so far I have had no major issues.

Boat Review: Princess V40

“Very occasionally, a boat comes along that seems to have a small but discernable edge in performance over the competition.” So wrote Tony Jones (page 98 November 2002 MBY) where in a glowing tribute to this boat entitled “Tweak Philosophy” he tries to establish why it is just so good. Ok I know he refers to the 42 but in essence they are the same boat with little gain in space for the extra 2 feet.

Boat Review: C&C 35 Mk III - 1986

Arguably the best truly dual purpose boat of its size ever designed. She has beautiful lines and an ample sail plan.

Boat Review - Fairline Targa 30 - 1999

Try and find one with the Lux pack fitted. This included a handy second door to the heads, electro-hydraulic hatch ram and extra cleats. Side deck windows are also very desirable as these improve the styling and lighten up the cabin. From 2000 onwards an alternative dashboard layout was available. This incorporated a Raytheon Radar/Plotter and looks really good.

Boat Review: Fairline 43/45 - 1998

Fairline '47: I have owned the boat for 2˝ years now and think it is wonderful. The hull gives comfortable dry ride and exhibits the excellent handling associated with Fairline boats. The build quality is excellent. Close quarters maneuvering is predictable and in my mind, easy – the boat does not have, nor needs a bow thruster. The engines, which have done approx 900 hours have been well looked after and this has resulted no major problems.
