The Boston Whaler 285 Conquest is the newest addition to its unsinkable cabin boat line. Featuring Boston Whaler’s exclusive Unibond foam core construction process, the 285 Conquest bridges the gap between the compact yet versatile 255 Conquest cuddy cabin model and the fully appointed 305 Conquest full cabin model. Unique to this Conquest is a port lounge that boasts a pivoting seat back that allows the seat to easily adapt to the type of activity taking place.
This Conquest’s recessed bow walkaround is wide and easy to maneuver. It is flanked by a stainless steel bow rail which provides a feeling of additional security. Port side at the bow, there is a sculpted deck area for extra foot space that proves helpful when fishing, anchoring or docking. Convenient molded in steps make it easy to move from the bow deck to the cockpit.
Standard power for the 285 Conquest is a pair of 200 horsepower FourStroke Verado engines from Mercury Marine. Aside from providing remarkably quiet propulsion, these supercharged engines provide awe-inspiring response throughout the throttle range. Incidentally, the throttles are Mercury’s exclusive DTS (digital throttle and shift) for yacht caliber operation at your fingertips. Also part of the Verado package is power assist steering to ensure superior handling. The engines are equipped with stainless steel propellers. Engine performance and function are monitored via the Mercury Smart Craft SC- 5000 digital display.
The spacious forward cabin area plays host to a dinette with comfortable seating for several adults. The dinette tabletop is mounted on a gas-assist base. Push the tabletop down, rearrange the seat cushions and it quickly and easily converts to a forward berth. The seatbacks and cushions are made of superior grade marine fabrics and feature decorator accents. Under both the port and starboard seat cushions are spacious storage compartments.
