The unique running pad on the V-hull increases stability and maneuverability while on plane. And, the new Speedster continues with Chris-Craft’s tradition of beautiful lines and finishes that help customers recognize the design instantly. “This boat is a well thought-out boat,” says Steve Heese, president of Chris-Craft. “Our engineers spent hours upon hours sitting in every phase of the prototype mock-up to create the most usable space and functional design, while at the same time building a truly beautiful boat.” Surprisingly enough, the boat began less than a year ago as a sketch on a napkin in a Chinese restaurant. The boat is perfect for day trips, or even long weekends, with a fully enclosed master aft stateroom, head, galley and V-berth that accommodates dining or sleeping. The boat comes standard with twin 375 hp Volvo 8.1 Gi stern drives and stainless steel duo props. The powerplant can be upgraded to twin 420 hp Volvo or MerCruiser gasoline engines or turbocharged D-6 Volvo diesels. The base power delivers a hearty top speed in the mid-40s and cruises comfortably at 35 mph. The fuel capacity is 286 gallons with an approximate range of 260 miles. A standard extended swim platform allows for easy boarding. The cockpit features double-wide helm seats, as well as a large wrap-around U-shape aft seat, and a center walk-through, allowing easy access to the swim platform.   The driver’s helm seat has a flip-up bolster. The cockpit provides total seating for 10 guests. The seating also conceals plenty of convenient storage for fenders, lines, battery switches, and dockside water and power inlets. An optional Chris-Craft electric table converts the aft seating to a large sunbed. An on-deck entertainment center, complete with ice maker, refrigerator and wet bar provide for convenient beverage and snack service. Guests can take refuge from the sun under the boat’s generous Bimini top, which stores below deck by dropping into a molded compartment under the hydraulic engine hatch. As the hatch closes, the top folds away neatly and automatically. Central access to the bow is available with a teak and stainless steel ladder and diamond non-skid walkway. Chris-Craft’s signature handrails and teak insert grace the forward deck, perfect for sunning. Below, guests will find roomy accommodations for four people. The aft stateroom features a queen size mattress, four complete storage compartments, including a full-length hanging locker with mirror, and access to the electrical and air conditioning service panel. The enclosed private stateroom also boasts both direct and indirect lighting, as well as a cabin ventilation porthole, room to stand for dressing purposes and a settee with storage. Chris-Craft's Corsair 36 - Port Side Galley - Click for Full Screen Photo - The user-friendly galley, located on the port side of the boat, offers a stainless steel refrigerator, built-in coffee pot, stainless steel microwave, full-size custom-molded sink with drop-in Corian cover, and lots of galley storage. The cooktop also includes a switch that automatically cuts off the power to the heating element when the Corian cover is in place. The entire Granicoat work surface is edged with a fiddle lip to help keep things in their place and a stainless steel galley rail for safety. Storage beneath the galley also includes a dedicated pull-out trash receptacle. Above the galley is the centralized main distribution panel with custom color-coded electric breakers – green for 12V systems and red for 115V systems – for easy identification. The panel has individual controls for all features so that the operator can isolate any system. The main salon boasts 6’2” headroom and seating in the V-berth for six adults. The custom Italian Bensonzoni table base in the V-berth lowers hydraulically to provide a base for bed cushions. Once lowered, the bed has a total length of 6’8” – accommodating even the tallest boater. The main salon also has state-of-the-art electronics with a flat-screen TV, DVD player and Bose stereo. The head, located on the starboard side of the boat, has a fully-enclosed shower with bi-fold glass door and VacuFlush toilet. The stainless steel sink is surrounded by a custom sea-blue glass countertop with storage above and below. The space is completed with thoughtful touches, such as a stainless steel robe hook, space for toiletries, and a custom waterproof toilet paper roll cover.
