Alden Yachts

Alden Yachts , "America's Boatbuilder," is located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, USA. Crafters of semi-custom sailing and motor yachts, Alden Yachts received the Steve Collins "All Around Winner" award at the 2002 Newport International Boat Show. Astondoa Yachts

Baia Marine - Baia Yachts

Baia Yachts have been produced as semi-custom, high performance yachts in Italy since 1961, originally under the company name Mericraft, and now known as Cantieri di Baja. Baia’s shipyard is found at the Gulf of Pozzuoli, near Naples, Italy; this area has been an ancient Roman harbor dating back to centuries B.C. The facilities are home to a number of integrated companies serving Baia exclusively. Baia has consistently been an Italian leader in adapting to advanced technologies. The hull construction process at Baia ensures the even distribution of the laminates and their associated mechanical attributes. Carver Yachts

Hinckley Yachts - a company of firsts – was founded in Southwest Harbor, Maine. Hinckley yachts are semi-custom built in both motor and sailing styles, ranging from 29 feet up to 70 feet in length. In 1928, Henry R. Hinckley started the company with a workboat focus. Today, Hinckley pleasure cruising is produced and serviced in Southwest Harbor and Trenton, Maine, Rhode Island, Maryland, Georgia and Florida. Hinckley pioneered the American transition to Kevlar brand hybrid composites for decks and hulls alike. The Hinckley Company was the initial yacht builder to use the SCRIMP brand process and DualGuard brand composite construction, resulting in sturdier, lighter, and environmentally friendlier laminates. Also, Hinckley was the first to combine jet propulsion into a semi-custom yacht.

Mainship Yachts

Mainship Yachts , famous for its trawlers, is part of the Luhrs Marine Group. John and Warren Luhrs initiated the construction of a single diesel pleasure yacht that was geared toward fuel economy and family affordability, in light of the ongoing international fuel problems in 1977. The construction of Mainship yachts occurs in shared Luhrs facilities at St. Augustine, Florida, and an additional facility in Midway, Georgia. Regal Yachts

Regal Yachts is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. The family-owned company manufactures yachts in sizes of 17 feet through 41 feet in length, in styles including runabouts and express cruisers. Regal has been a pioneer in unique hull construction, and has been the recipient of the IMTEC innovation award for its own FasTrac hull design. FasTrac causes yachts to have faster performance and use less fuel. A state-of-the-art coating gel is used on Regal’s yachts, which contains UV filters that preserve original color. Regal is concerned with saltwater decay of yachts; to address this concern, Regal utilizes premium grade stainless steel for virtually every component. Some yachts are shower-tested for water leakage. Regal holds one of the first ISO 9002 registrations for yacht manufacturers.

Santa Cruz Yachts

Santa Cruz Yachts builds sailing yachts in an unusual location called “the chicken coop” in Santa Cruz, California. Santa Cruz is formerly known as Bill Lee Yachts, a company started in 1977. Bill Lee and several other designers were proponents of and originated ultralight sailing manufacturing. Today, almost all of the boats built since 1977 are still being sailed, in spite of criticisms of ultralight displacement. Santa Cruz’s lightweight and strong hull construction is achieved by a laminate sandwich procedure. Over the years, Santa Cruz has constructed yachts in the 27-foot to 72-foot range. Among other achievements, Santa Cruz 70 finished first in a Port Huron-to-Mackinac Island Sailboat Race. The Santa Cruz 52 captured Sailing World magazine’s Boat of the Year award.

Sea Ray Boats - SeaRay Yachts

SeaRay Yachts began constructing boats and yachts in 1959 and is one of the initial users of fiberglass and advanced composite materials in boat/yacht building. Sea Ray’s headquarters are located in Knoxville, Tennessee; six manufacturing plants are located in Tennessee and Florida. The Product Development and Engineering facility is in Florida, with state-of-the-art technology such as robotics and CAD/CAM that provides data to control machinery. Sea Ray produces four types of vessels: sport boats, cruisers, sport yachts, and yachts. The sizes of the boat and yacht fleet range from 18 to 68 feet in length. Sea Ray pays great attention to ergonomics, and testing in-water for six weeks. Many awards have been attributed to Sea Ray in the areas of hospitality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Shannon Yachts was founded by Walt Schulz in Bristol, RI in 1975 with the intent to design and build offshore yachts to the highest quality standards. Tiara Yachts

Tiara Yachts began its history with Leon Slikkers, formerly of Chris-Craft. In 1955, Slikkers set out to start his own yacht building company; after selling his original company, and starting to build motor yachts, Tiara Yachts came into existence. Tiara is a division of S2 Yachts, Inc., with head offices/manufacturing in Holland, Michigan, and another manufacturing facility for specific models in Swansboro, North Carolina. Tiara features two lines of yachts: open, measuring from 31 feet to 53 feet in length with standard pulpit, and express Sovran, ranging from 41 feet to 55 feet with standard pulpit. Tiara’s design and engineering groups write electrical software specific to Tiara yachts, and use various 3-D views in design. Tiara has chosen a modified deep-V hull to promote a stable ride.

Viking Yachts has been a family-owned company since its inception, co-founded by brothers Bill and Bob Healey. The company is located in New Gretna, New Jersey.
