Revisiting a Classic: Same Smooth Lines with a Modern Twist

Hunt Yachts Inc. recently reintroduced an updated version of C. Raymond Hunt’s classic 1967 design.

Outfitting the Surfhunter 25 with the legendary deep-v hull and 24 degree deadrise allows her to cut through the water today as she did years ago when first introduced to Buzzards Bay’s choppy waters off the coast of Rhode Island.

Originally introduced in 1967, the popular Hunt Brave Moppie was  recently updated and reintroduced as the Surfhunter 25.

Inside the Legendlayout

The once wooden hull has been replaced and given wider submerged chines to increase the vessel's stability.

bedThe engine compartment has also been moved forward to accommodate more aft room that can be used for either fishing or relaxing on the full- width stern seat.

The cuddy comes equipped with counter space for two drawers, a locker to port, a stainless sink unit with pressured water to starboard, a vanity, a large opening deck hatch, two port lights with screens, and a porta-potti.

The vessel's v-berth is equipped with cushions, and a handy compartment under the cushions to store all of your cruising necessities.

Other amenities include: an on-deck stowage locker, rod racks located under the side decks, and a molded console with plenty of room for flush-mounted electronics. She also comes with your choice of a gas or diesel power capable of getting her up to 35 knots.

The improved features, layout, and classic good looks make the Surfhunter 25 the perfect choice for exploring the islands with your family, enjoying hours of fishing, or simply enjoying a pleasant day-cruise.  And with all the basic cruising comforts and added space, you can easily turn your day-outing into an extended weekend adventure.
