Surfhunter 29, A Step Beyond Greatness

The Surfhunter 29 can be considered an augmentation of an already proven winner, the Surfhunter 25. In a literal sense, the extra four feet give the 29 added space in both the cockpit, as well as below deck. Beyond that, though, the 29 maintains the same profile as its smaller predecessor, cruising smoothly, regardless of conditions. Relying on the proven Hunt design, the Surhunter 29 is another in its deep line of New England deep V cruisers.

Hunt Marine Does it Again!
Successful Comebacks - Take Two

In early Summer 2003, Hunt Yachts released the Surfhunter 29.  After all of the success that surrounded the Surfhunter 25, the larger version of Hunt’s classic deep-v hull design had already sold its first three vessels, even though the line has yet to splash into the water.  Like her sister, the Surfhunter 29 was designed for the choppy waters of
New England, and cuts through the water gracefully.

A scaled up hull and cabin give additional, desired inches of headroom without impacting on the sleek Surfhunter profile. The Surfhunter 29 remains a fun and practical boat for day use with an interior that places overnights and weekends within easy reach. She has the same superb Hunt deep-V performance that has made her little sister one of the venerable boats in the rough waters of Southern New England. In the 29, the extra four feet of length is split between the cockpit and the interior. With that length and an additional foot and a half in the beam, there are more generous dimensions below and more move-around space on deck. Plus, the scaled up hull and cabin give additional, desired inches of headroom without impacting on the sleek Surfhunter profile and instantly recognizable “Hunt-style”.

Four Extra Feet Go a Long Waytop view

The additional four feet are divided between the cockpit and the interior, creating more deck space, as well as added headroom down below.

Surfhunter 29’s removable seating makes for ample fishing space, and creates a path to the transom and the vessel's two fishwells. But if fishing is not your choice, leave the seats in and enjoy the ride from the stern bench or the optional L-settee amidships.

Her large swept-back windshield and side windows were designed to deflect the persistent ocean wind and spray, so even the passengers sitting aft will remain dry at any speed.

Surfhunter's more than adequate helm-station.

Weekender Necessities

The galley includes a stainless sink, refrigerator, and a single-burner butane stove.
Full bathroom to make everyone aboard happy.

The interior is outfitted with a galley that includes a stainless sink, refrigerator, and a single-burner butane stove.  That, and a full bathroom, will insure that nothing keeps you from wanting to stay the weekend.

The V-berth table transforms the space into a saloon cabin that has a hanging locker, shelves, and a forepeak locker. The vessel’s Lewmar opening comes with a screened deck hatch and portlights.

Power to Spare

Standard power is a single Volvo Penta 5.7 SXI/XPD 320 HP Ocean Series gas engine with thru-hub exhaust and Ocean Series Composite Outdrive. Hunt Anticipates 40 MPH speed, and a cruising range of 250 nm with standard 150 gallon fuel tank. Other power choices are offered, including diesel I/O, diesel inboard, and the option of water jet

Despite all the comforts that the Surfhunter 29 provides, Hunt Yachts, as always, offers customers a range of options in order to guarantee customer satisfaction.
