Classic Elegance and Comfort

Sea Tabby's Classically Comfortable and Nostalgic Aft Deck

Attison Pratt and Robert Libby bought Sea Tabby in Feb of 1982. She was in good condition, but they felt that to ensure her preservation, a complete renovation was in order. So a four-year restoration project has kept her in the water. Attison does much of the varnishing and painting to keep her ship shape and in bristol condition at all times. Of its age, we believe Sea Tabby is one of the finest restorations ever done. The boat should last a hundred years or more.
For most of her prior years, she was owned by a man named Karaheusian who owned Karastan carpets. He was a successful man and bought the boat during the war, and he had it until he died in 1977. Bob and his partner were looking for a boat like this and were unable to find one until they found Sea Tabby.

Now Available for Charter
They are now chartering her in the Northeast in Buzzard's Bay, Boston, Newport, and Florida in the winter. She sleeps five and can take twelve for day charters. For those that would enjoy a spring or fall cruise, they travel the waterway between the North and South. The aft deck is just wonderful for a leisurely cruise as you can see below. You can actually experience the historic luxury of our Countries past aboard Sea Tabby. She can leisurely cover 50-60 miles in a day. Double that if you are in a hurry.
Cruising from New England to Florida as she has done almost every year since she was launched. Sea Tabby continues to turning heads everywhere she goes. She is a treasure from yachting's elegant past.

Restoration of a Classic Yacht is a Sentimental Venture
Bob most enjoys chartering and sharing his boat with others. Being aboard Sea Tabby is truly a special experience. With less than 75 still afloat, these unforgettable powerboats can only be considered an endangered species and a treasure.
There is nothing like sitting in period wicker chairs from the commodious aft deck observing the passing scenery while an attentive crew prepares fine regional food with the emphasis on the best of what local markets can provide. What a way to go!
Traditional Wheelhouse
 Sea Tabby Wheelhouse
Although not large, the wheelhouse is traditional except for the addition of modern electronics.
Sea Tabby was designed by John Trumpy and built in Camden, NJ, by the famed wooden yacht builders whose achievements are legendary including the presidential yacht, Sequoia.
There are not many vessels from this era that have been lovingly maintained in their original condition. Yet even with the best of care and having just a few owners in her sixty five year history, Sea Tabby was showing signs of her age. Luckily, her owners treasured her and did whatever had to be done to preserve a piece of history afloat.
