Bond Boats: Moonraker Glastron Amazon Chase Boat
This sleek Glastron Amazon chase boat is often compared to the Aston Martin DB5. With its hidden rocket launchers, floating mines and escaping hang-glider, it was as lethal as its earth bound counterpart. All of the gadgetry seen on this boat actually worked.

While navigating to the top of the Amazon, Bond is targeted by Jaws and his crew of armed motorboats. Bond's sleek craft again leads a chase involving his boat dropping mines and torpedoes to eliminate the pursuers. With only Jaws' boat left a waterfall approaches quickly so 007 opens out the built-in hang glider and lifts himself to safety as his boat, along with Jaws', goes over the edge of the fall. This is much more impressive than the gondola chase in Venice especially as we see mines explode and boats thrown into the air with the force of the blasts... very creative.

Any Glastron fan, or James Bond fan for that matter, should see the 1979 film Moonraker. The boat that James Bond drives in the 1979 movie "Moonraker" (above) is a 1978 or 1979 CV23HT. "HT" is for hardtop.

The '78 and '79 models sold to the general public came in either metal-flake blue or metal-flake bronze. Special CV23HTs were produced for the movie in a silver gray metalflake.
