Abeking Yachts are created in Lemwerder, Germany, just southwest of Bremen. Georg Abeking and Henry Rasmussen founded the Lemwerder shipyard in 1907 and have produced over 6,400 sailing vessels since that time. Abeking & Rasmussen feature environmentally friendly workshops that contain high-performance production facilities for boat construction. Abeking & Rasmussen yachts are built to a specification of 98 feet in length minimum, are incorporating SWATH ship technology for space and comfort, and use varied materials: wood, aluminum, steel, or fiberglass. Astondoa Yachts

Astondoa Yachts benefit from a company philosophy of combined passion, experience, solidity, technology and design. A company founded in Spain in 1916, Astondoa owns three facilities that cater to the size of the yacht being produced. There are three ranges of the yachts: open range, middle overall, and big crafts. The facility at Viscaya is responsible for the 40-foot open sport model of Astondoa. In Almansa, yachts are created from 35 to 54 feet in length, while the Santa Pola location makes the larger lines of Astondoa yachts, from 57 to 122 feet in length. Quality control is of utmost importance during Astondoa yacht production and assembly at each of these facilities. Astondoa also pays much attention to the latest in both computer and process technology, ensuring effective and reliable yachts.

AZIMUT

Azimut Yachts opened for business in 1969, and is headquartered in Avigliana, Torino, Italy. With its own facilities and the Benetti yards acquisition in 1985, Azimut owns yards in 4 regions. The Avigliana yard presents a boat production capacity of 270. Savona has a Service and Delivery center. Viareggio has the Azimut-Benetti production and refitting center and the Benetti yard. The Azimut-Benetti Production Center is in Fano, creating GRP hulls. The yards can hold different sizes of yachts, from 39 feet to 165 feet in length, though yachts produced are 39 to 98 feet in length. Azimut is responsible for the boating innovation of windows glued directly to fiberglass, called the frameless window. Azimut also offers customers the opportunity of chartering of their own boats though preferred dealers.

Bluewater Yachts

Bluewater Yachts are “different by design” and have made their mark in the yacht building industry. Elmer Klapmeier and his son Jim started what is now called Bluewater Yachts in the 1950’s. The company is based in Mora, Minnesota and builds mostly custom motoryachts from 52 to 70 feet long. These yachts offer an owner without crew a successful ride. The design of Bluewater yachts deviated drastically from general yacht manufacture in the placement of the engine at the outward edges of the yacht, greatly aiding noise reduction. Bluewater has a patent for their GuardianLift® design, a planing system including a modified V-planing hull. Bluewater has a plethora of industry firsts, including the first one-piece fiberglass hull and the elimination of stringers with a new design using fiberglass parts.

Broward Yachts - Broward Marine

Broward Yachts are the product of Broward Marine, located in Dania, Florida. Navy contracts led to the first Broward creations, and one of Broward’s first yachts, built in the 1950’s, was considered to be a megayacht in its day. Broward Marine has a focus on creating custom yachts specifically designed for the client’s lifestyle. Aluminum is the material of choice for Broward yachts, and both engineers and designers work together to blend new technology with Old World flair. Broward has taken into consideration the favorite customer options, and integrated them into standard options for newer yachts, which also offer a longer range and more cruising speed. Today, Broward yachts are produced in sport fishing, raised bridge, raised pilothouse, and tri-deck models ranging from 98 to 156 feet in length.

Burger Yachts - Burger Boat

Burger Yachts powers yachts from its Manitowoc, Wisconsin shipyard. In 1863, Henry Burger started producing 20-foot to 30-foot Mackinaw fishing boats for local usage. Today, Burger Boat Company designs and manufactures custom motor yachts with a mix of traditional and contemporary aspects, using aluminum. Burger is the originator of the flush-deck cruiser, and incorporates this design into some modern yachts. The size of Burger yachts falls between 82 feet and 165 feet in length. Burger has also developed the Automatic Managed Power System, using equipment from several manufacturers together with a programmable logic device to consistently deliver electrical power. Servicing the needs of customers is important to Burger – the company produced the largest motor yacht with complete wheelchair accessibility

Carver Yachts

Carver Yachts had small beginnings turn into large yachts. In 1954, Charlie Carter and George Verhagen started the Carver tradition in a garage. Carver is now headquartered in Pulaski, Wisconsin, with more facilities in Fano, Italy, and pays strict attention to details of form and function when designing a yacht. Cheoy Lee Yachts celebrates generations of the ownership of a yacht shipyard. Run by the same family since 1870, Cheoy Lee started building motor yachts in the 1950’s. The very modern shipyard at Doumen, China is able to produce yachts over 200 feet in length. Cheoy Lee’s models include sport motor yachts and long range cruising yachts. These yachts range from 61 feet to 172 feet lengthwise. Cheoy Lee was one of the earliest yacht building companies to perform full development of fiberglass construction methods, phasing out wood construction. Classification standards and guidelines are important to Cheoy Lee’s manufacturing: Lloyd’s, the Hong Kong Marine Department, and the American Boat and Yacht Council have all played a role in forming Cheoy Lee yachts’ specifications.

Christensen Shipyards

Christensen Yachts is one of the industry’s leaders in composite fiberglass yachts. Dave Christensen backed into yacht building when he commissioned a custom yacht for himself, only to find customers clamoring for it ... and the 2nd and the 3rd so, in the mid-1980s, he opened his own yacht building factory on the Columbia River to build a line of megayachts. The Christensen fleet ranges from 115 feet to 155 feet in length and is built in compliance with the American Bureau of Shipping and the U.K. Maritime and Coastguard Agency classification standards. The facilities at Christensen Shipyards can hold a number of superyachts at one time and up to 170 feet in size, in the midst of the building process. Christensen hull molds allow for a wide variety of options during construction. Their yachts are built utilizing a sandwich composite method. For example, the hulls are Double-Cored cell that is approx. 2-1/2 inches thick, while the superstructure is comprised of Divinycell-core. The result is very strong composite yachts.

Codecasa

The CODECASA DUE shipyard, situated in one of the Viareggio Port's oldest docks, extends over an area of 6500 square meters, 3500 of which are under permanent cover. This shipyard has the necessary facilities and equipment for the repair and the refitting of motor and sailing yachts, as well as the construction of steel/aluminium or entirely aluminium yachts, up to 35 meters (115') in length.

Cruisers Yachts

Cruisers Yachts began with a family that already had 60 years of boat building experience. In 1953, the younger generation of the Thompson family (Roy and Grant) launched Cruisers Inc. Feadship Yachts

Feadship Yachts is the combination of two Netherlands shipyards, separately established, coming together in 1949. The De Vries and Royal Van Lent families founded Feadship. The name of Feadship stands for the First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders. The company started out focusing on the United States’s active market for pleasure yachts. Feadship has produced custom-built displacement motoryachts, which can be from 70-213 feet long. De Vries Scheepsbouw is in the center of Aaslmeer, and the Van Lent shipyard is on Kaag Island. Two motoryachts are built at each yard per year. The design center, De Voogt Naval Architects, is in Haarlem. Feadship uses steel and aluminum for construction materials.

Ferretti Yachts

Ferretti Yachts began as two brothers selling other companies’ yachts, then choosing to move on to constructing yachts on their own. Norberto and Alessandro Ferretti started the Italian company in 1968. Today, Ferretti S.p.A. encompasses a number of companies with related yachting specialties and brands. Ferretti constructs yachts at three distinct shipyards in Italy: the original shipyard S. Giovanni in Marignano, the headquarters in Forli, and Cattolica, the most state-of-the-art facility where 16 yachts can be constructed at one time. Ferretti also has a research and design center in Forli, where ideas are originated with the help of the latest computer technologies. Yachts developed under the Ferretti name are from 43 feet to 88 feet in overall length.

Fleming Yachts

Fleming Yachts are built under the guidance of Tony Fleming, a former boatbuilder and new development technical director. Tony Fleming is still involved in the manufacture of every pilothouse motoryacht in his own company, started in 1985. The Tung Hwa shipyard, slightly over 12 miles from Kaohsiung in southern Taiwan, is the exclusive builder of Fleming yachts. Sizes of Fleming yachts are at 55 feet and 75 feet long, and the shipyard can produce up to 15 boats per year for the smaller yacht. The hulls are specifically chosen to be of semi-displacement design for optimized speed. Thorough testing of the yacht is performed in a test tank. Fleming yachts feature two hull-to-deck joints and special attention to reduction of noise and vibration. Periodicals have given strong praises to Fleming yachts.

Guy Couach Yachts

Guy Couach Yachts specializes in high-end luxury cruising yachts. A company whose roots are in four generations of the Couach family, Couach has been in business since 1897. Today, the company is no longer family-owned, but the research and high technology of its motor yachts continues. Guy Couach yachts are constructed of composite materials and arrive in three styles: flybridge, open, and yachts. Some yachts are created as long-range, and tri-decks. The sizes of Guy Couach yachts range from 54 feet to 120 feet in overall length. Couach prides itself on a wide variety of in-house training available to employees, such as courses in security, language acquisition, and new materials. The Guy Couach manufacturing facility, including research, workshops, and trades, is located in Gujan-Mestras, France.

Hatteras Yachts

Hatteras Yachts – a legend on the shores of North Carolina. Willis Slane’s vision turned into the realization of its first sportsfishing yacht on March 22, 1960. From Hatteras’s sole shipyard in New Bern, North Carolina roll out the lines of sportfishing convertibles and cruising motor yachts. The motor yachts range in length from 63 to 100 feet in length. All watercraft built by Hatteras have solid fiberglass hull bottoms, and the hulls are designed in convex and modified-V shapes to enable yacht owners to enjoy the “Hatteras ride.” Hatteras yachts exhibit quality in performance, construction integrity, mechanical and electrical systems, paint/exterior, and interior design. Lazzara Yachts

Lazzara Yachts has a long history before the corporation bore the name Lazzara. Vince Lazzara built the first large fiberglass sailing yacht in 1956, starting a turn in yacht manufacturing. In 1991, Dick and Brad Lazzara formed Lazzara Yacht Corporation. Today, the yachts range from 75 feet to 105 feet in length, and can be constructed in at least eight months with an auto industry-like production line. Lazzara builds a select number of personalized yachts yearly in Tampa, Florida. The style and performance combination is a focus point in yachts designed by Lazzara. Awards for quality and design have been plentiful for Lazzara, from various entities: a division of Mercedes Benz, Showboats International, International Superyacht Design, and the American Society of Interior Designers.

Mikelson Yachts

Mikelson Yachts offers yachts which cruise out of Southern California. Mikelson specializes in semi-custom sportfishing and pilothouse yachts. These yachts are limited edition, with high speed/low horsepower engines that minimize fuel consumption. Models today range from 43 feet to 75 feet in overall length. At Mikelson, all equipment systems used in yacht building is state-of-the-art. Each Mikelson yacht has different, custom features at an attractive price, to please customers. Stability on the yachts is achieved through a low center of gravity and a wide beam. The customer is the focus at Mikelson, from design through support. Mikelson yachts have won several fishing tournaments through the years, and one yacht has topped several categories of Pacific Coast sportfishing yachts.

Neptunus Yachts builds semi-custom luxury yachts under the Neptune Marine Group’s umbrella of companies. Neptunus puts a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of every single client. Comfort and practicality make a welcome combination on Neptunus yachts, as well as performance hulls providing a smooth ride. Throughout its history, Neptunus has committed to using the latest manners of construction and contemporary material usage. Since 1969, Neptunus has a main construction facility in Holland, and established a Canadian presence in 1989 with a manufacturing and design facility in St. Catharines, Ontario. Riva Yachts

Riva Yachts carries a long history in building boats and yachts. In 1842, Pietro Riva made the lengthy journey from Laglio, Italy to Sarnico, Italy upon the request of a stranger to fix his boat, when no one in Sarnico would try. Pietro gathered attention from others, and they eventually asked for new boats. Today, Riva rivals other shipyards in being one of the oldest, well-known yacht shipyards and is part of the Ferretti Group. The sizes of Riva yachts vary from 44 feet to 84 feet overall in length. Customers of Riva yachts through the years have included kings, sultans, emperors, actors, and entrepreneurs, making Riva a worldwide name for yacht beauty and high status. Riva is famous for a superior hull constructed from high quality resins, which produce a Riva-unique cream shade.

Sea Ray Boats - SeaRay Yachts

SeaRay Yachts began constructing boats and yachts in 1959 and is one of the initial users of fiberglass and advanced composite materials in boat/yacht building. Sea Ray’s headquarters are located in Knoxville, Tennessee; six manufacturing plants are located in Tennessee and Florida. The Product Development and Engineering facility is in Florida, with state-of-the-art technology such as robotics and CAD/CAM that provides data to control machinery. Sea Ray produces four types of vessels: sport boats, cruisers, sport yachts, and yachts. The sizes of the boat and yacht fleet range from 18 to 68 feet in length. Sea Ray pays great attention to ergonomics, and testing in-water for six weeks. Many awards have been attributed to Sea Ray in the areas of hospitality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Silverton Yachts

Silverton Yachts was originally a small builder called Silverton Sea Skiffs. John and Warren Luhrs bought the builder in 1969 and incorporated the family techniques in the business, with success. So today, Silverton, in Millville, New Jersey, is part of the Luhrs Marine Group. Silverton is a forerunner in the construction of aft-cabin family cruisers. The lines of yachts built by Silverton are convertibles, motor yachts, and sport bridge. These yachts measure from 35 feet to 51 feet overall in length. Silverton has been innovative in their design of the SideWalk, a flybridge-side molded stairway, and interior designs as well. Silverton hulls have a vinylester barrier coat to alleviate blistering, and a stringer system hand-laminated to the hull with gel coat applied to vastly reduce water penetration.

Sonship Yachts

Sonship Yachts had its conception in 1967 by Ben Vermeulen. West Bay has grown to a seven-building complex in Delta, British Columbia, Canada, and is the largest manufacturing facility of its type in Canada. West Bay also employs a small staff at Bellingham, Washington to build hulls and decks. SonShip yachts are semi-custom luxury motoryachts built in fiberglass, ranging from 63 feet to 106 feet in length, and West Bay has the capability of holding yachts up to 160 feet long. Engineering of SonShip yachts is important to the Vermeulen family, evident in the use of advanced software programs to deliver up-to-date CAD designs for virtually every part of the yachts. All SonShip yachts undergo incessant monitoring of weight and balance during the construction phase, to optimize performance.

Sunseeker Yachts

Sunseeker Yachts had its roots as Poole Powerboats. A British company based in Poole, England, the first vessel to sport the name Sunseeker was manufactured in the mid-1970s, and the name change occurred in the early 1980’s. With the change in identity came new hull designs that set the bar for performance higher. Nowadays, each Sunseeker yacht bears a hull design that comes from the racing world, and skillfully constructed using composite materials. Sunseeker is the recipient of two International Superyacht Design awards, and a multiple-time recipient of the Queen’s Award for Export Achievement. The vast majority of Sunseeker production is exported. Six lines of yachts and related vessels make up Sunseeker’s fleet. They vary from a 135-foot long yacht down to a 37-foot long high performance yacht.

Westport Yachts

Westport Yachts opened initially in 1964 as a multi-vessel shipyard, including boats for commercial fishing and fast ferries. Westport now focuses solely on motoryacht construction and is the largest builder in North America. Westport believes strongly in the usage of composite materials to build the yachts; therefore, Westport yachts are fuel-economical, have reduced noise, have excellent thermal insulation, and are non-corrosive.
