Have ever wondered who buys a Tiara Yacht or what a boating rendezvous is really all about? Boater's LIFE has an insider's perspective for you.
We recently attended a Tiara Yachts Lake Michigan Owner's Rendezvous at Yacht Haven Drummond Island, MI, to find out for ourselves.
For starters, take a look at the photos in this article. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Clearly you can see the warm camaraderie from shared experiences that will last a lifetime.
The Tiara owners at the rendezvous were people like you and me - enjoying and exploring new destinations and making new friends ... honest, good people. People who respect quality and think they should get their money's worth from the money they spend. The odd thing was that they all seemed happy. It was obvious that Tiara Yachts delivers.
They had a good time together like old friends would. Some of them have been to many rendezvous and in fact are by now good friends.
That's just the beginning of what we experienced first hand.
I must admit that I felt a little like I was visiting Lake Wobegon, ... you have all heard or read the quote from Garrison Keillor. If he were talking about a Tiara rendezvous, it might have sounded more like this:
"Welcome to Tiara Yachts, where all the boats are strong and attractive; the women are beautiful and all the men are good-looking; all the children are above average, and the cruising is superlative." Unlike Lake Wobegon, in this case the quote is true.
Where I'm from we trust what we can see and Boater's LIFE experienced a rendezvous that reflected the principles that Tiara Yacht is built upon ... integrity, innovation and quality. Quality is what you can see and feel in front of you. Tiara's owners are people of all ages and generations - grandparents, parents and their children, aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces (some of whom now own their own Tiara). They were a group in which I felt like I myself belonged and everyone made me feel that way.
A great welcome dinner and an inside look under the tent ...
Excellent Food for Dining and Relaxation
The food was terrific. A perfect blend of fun, dining and relaxation. The chef was even there to be sure all were well satisfied. And, of course, the cookies were fabulous.
Singular experiences like this become lifetime memories and tonight was to be no exception.
The handheld mike was passed around the room for all to introduce themselves and tell a little of their experiences. As you could imagine their passion for boating was contagious! Authentic, humorous and engaging, with each successive Captain outdoing the previous with stories and boasting; somewhat tempered by their First Mate's influence. Truly delightful and good fun for all (names withheld to protect the innocent).

Photos can tell more than words ...
Here is but a sampling of the events, fun to be had (see additional pages linked below for additional photos) and the many Tiara Owners with their families. Many of the owners have been to eight or more rendezvous and are dedicated Tiara fans.

After spending time with this group of Tiara owners, I discovered that either a lot of intelligence or luck lies in having purchased their first Tiara. Either way, these people were very happy with their decision.
Most festivities are accompanied by Local Music
Salty Flavored Music and Fun for All
There were many types of owners here - first time owners, owners on their second or third boats and even owners on the ninth Tiara and more! Many were new to boating and many were old salts.
Many may have just lucked into their Tiara not knowing how great they were. Now they do, and will never leave. Others knew that they were great and plan to stay with them. After all, as one happy owner told me ... "why move on when you already have the best."
What struck me most, was the closeness all had with their spouses and family. Many came right out and said how much their boats had brought them together.

Welcoming New Owners to the Group
It was a spectacular experience. I can't say anything better about attending a rendezvous than that. Whatever boat you own, go to one if you haven't. It is time well spent. |
