Manufacturer Comments:
Cruise in style with the family and enjoy the thrill of chasing the big ones in the sporty and versatile Scout 202 Sportfish. This serious offshore contender is one versatile boat. The 202 Sportfish boasts an impressive list of standard and optional equipment for the avid boater. The roomy cockpit offers versatile seating, unique jump seats that double as battery storage, plus raw water washdown, all as standard equipment. The huge insulated bow storage area stows safety gear or can be used as a fish box. The large aerated livewell and the four rod holders are popular features, along with the horizontal rod storage that handles rods up to 7 feet long. The available bow and backrest cushions offer real comfort, while the optional leaning post doubles as a complete tackle center. Mfg Website

-
The Scout 202 is an excellent boat for its size. I have a friend who has owned one three years and had no problems. Typically, he makes 20-25 mile runs out of Venice, Louisiana, with a 150 hp two cycle. Another friend has a smaller Scout, about 17' long, with a 130 hp Yamaha and it is the roomiest and most stable and good riding boat for its size I have been in. Design, fit, finish, fittings and workmanship on Scout boats are very good.
- I'm finishing my fourth season with mine. It's powered by a Yam 150 EFI. With three guys, gear and a full tank (92 gals.) she planes in about 3 secs. and cruises at 25 mph at 3500 rpm/30 mph at 4000.
- It's a wide, roomy, dry boat in most seas, but does pound in seas 3' or or more. Then again, what 20 footer doesn't. The farthest I've ventured off the Jersey coast is 8-10 mi., but only in the best weather. Space wise, it does feel roomier than most 20 footers I've been on. The only thing I would like to have is more of is dry storage.
