Tiara Yachts Redesigns their 5200 Sovran from the Inside Out
I was lucky to see the first of the new Tiara Yacht 5200 Sovran Salon redesigns on the Great Lakes a few weeks ago. It's the Tiara Flagship, with a new level of openness and livability. The salon is open to the cabin below deck. The shroud and its sliding companionway door are gone.

Before and After Photos Say It All
In case that doesn't look like much of a change to you, here's the before and after shots.
It's the difference between a separation of living spaces and a wide open integrated cabin below with the open air panoramic windowed salon above.
The wraparound windshield, generous sunroof, and enclosed spacious salon interior with a lot of glass brings the outside inside . . . with complete comfort control. |

As you can see, the change is terrific… it's very livable. You might say it's a tremendous change. It opens up the whole living space so you can communicate easily with people below deck. Below deck felt very open and very airy. It's part of the environment within the salon. Gone is the inside - outside feel. The redesign completes the promise of the 5200 salon - a boat you can really live with.

A Very Nice Boat Indeed ... Awesome, Actually
A friend of mine spent some time on the 5200. He was on one last summer and traveled to the Bahamas for two weeks. In his typically understated manner, he said ... "A very nice boat." And, then went on to rave about it for hours. The truth... he thought it was an awesome boat!

I saw the redesign in the Great Lakes. The new Open Shroud redesign just looks natural, like it should have been that way to begin with. She is outstanding. Bob Slickers likes his design and production teams to be able to say that their boats are "awesome." In the case of the 5200, they succeeded admirably.
