Uniden Adds Some Color to VHF Radio

Uniden’s ES Series of VHF radios has “come to life” with the brand new UM 625c – featuring the first color display on a VHF radio on the market.

The large, 2.2” TFT color display can be viewed at any angle, even under direct sunlight. Plus, with bright orange backlit radio and microphone keys, you'll never be left in the dark. Other top-of-the-line features on the UM 625c include all US, Canadian and International channels, high powered built-in hailer/intercom receivers and pre-programmed fog signals, programmable scan, triple watch, step key selectable Hi/Lo transmit power and a GPS intuitive connection that uses GPS data to determine proper fog blast pattern, recommend proper channel band, correct time zone and more.

The UM625 radio is packed with amazing features, including all US,International,and programmable scan,triple watch,step key,selectable Hi/Lo transmit power and more.

It also has NMEA 0183 digital input and output,allowing the connection of an external GPS and the ability to output DSC call information to a chart plotter to establish call origin.

25-Watts of transmitting power and superior receiver performance equal to radios that cost over twice as much (-85dB intermod nominal). The radio is also equipped with a Dual Zone 2x30 WATT loud hailer. This means you can have 2 hailer horns selected independently or together. It even comes with a full featured intercom complete with preprogrammed fog signals. The UM625c includes a separate radio receiver for the dedicated DSC channel 70,a requirement for some commercial and foreign installations. And it means you'll never miss an incoming DSC call. The UM625c radio,including the microphone,is JIS7 tested and certified completely submersible. It also features easy-grip rubber knobs,an intuitive user interface and superior audio quality for extreme ease of use. The UM625c radio can also accept an optional scrambler to insure secure communications.
